It was a good thing that Hoshi didn't have any Monday classes. After spending most of her weekend asleep and unable to escape bizarre dreams, she had stubbornly stayed up all night Sunday. Somewhere around 6 AM, the exhaustion had finally kicked in and she dozed off for a few hours.

She was still feeling rather out of sorts when she woke up. After fixing herself a cup of tea, she sat on the bed and thought about the person she had been in that other world and the things she had seen. She sincerely hoped that those who survived would find themselves in a better place, but she couldn't feel certain about that.

[Door and post are completely open!]
After making a stop at a very interesting store to pick up a late birthday gift for herself, Hoshi returned to the dorm. She shoved the shopping bag with her purchase underneath her bed and got comfortable, intending to do some reading.

But it wasn't long before she dozed off, and like earlier in the day, she had strange dreams. Odd, racy dreams that left her rather breathless when she woke up with a shock. "If this is what happens when I get something decadent for myself, then Aphrodite better take returns," she groaned.

[Establishy! Some of those links might go to NSFW threads.]
Hoshi had put this off long enough. She wasn't taking a lot with her since she could pretty much get whatever she needed in 2146, but she also made sure to pack up all of her stuff so it would fit in the closet. She figured that Hinata would appreciate the extra space over the summer, and if things worked out really well with Starfleet, then it wouldn't be so hard to have the rest of her things sent home. At the same time, Hoshi really wanted to leave something behind, almost as a way of saying for certain that she would be back in the fall.

She hated the idea of leaving, even if it was just for a few months. Not even the experience she had yesterday with the gremlin had soured her on Fandom. If Travis Mayweather hadn't been waiting for her at the end of the causeway, she would had dawdled a little longer. At least she'd have a nice view of Travis's biceps during the flight to San Francisco.

"Come on, Porthos," said Hoshi, snapping a leash on the beagle's collar. "It won't be long now until we get to see the captain again. I'm sure he'll be happy to see you."

[Establishly and will eventually be a linkdrop. Door and post are open if you want to catch her before she leaves.]
"Stay off of the bed, Porthos," Hoshi warned as she took the dog off his leash. She'd taken him with her when she went for her morning jog and Porthos had a little too much fun playing in the mud. She watched as Porthos sat on the floor, then turned. "Let me get a towel and we'll go give you a bath. You like baths, right, Porthos?" said Hoshi, looking over her shoulder. While her back was turned, Porthos had jumped up on her bed, muddy paws and all. She sighed. "Alright, bath first, and then laundry. You're very lucky you're cute."

Porthos wagged his tail at her, but then his ears perked up and he looked at the door with a growl. He jumped off the bed and went running to the closed door.

Hoshi frowned. "What is it, buddy? Is someone there?"

[Door closed, but post is open for a weetiny, a daddy, and anyone else who doesn't mind some SP!]
Hoshi has a lot on her mind this morning. She'd finally managed to find a prom dress and shoes to go with it. She was occupied with making sure her dress was still safely tucked away in a dry cleaner's bag in her closet when Porthos started barking. "What is it buddy?" she asked, not turning around.

It's too bad that she didn't, because then she would have seen the gremlin before it managed to bite her on the ankle. "OUCH! What the... Oh my gosh, I'm late for work. I'd better get dressed. Where the heck are my legwarmers? Not now, Grunt! I've got to get dressed and head over to Mawby's before I lose my job. I can't spend the rest of my life working as a welder!"

After finding a leotard, sweatshirt and legwarmers buried somewhere in the back of the closet, she was out the door and on her way to work.

[Establishy! Hoshi now thinks she's Alex Owens from Flashdance.]
The past week had been entirely insane, from the honesty to the hat situation to an unwanted visit from her bad self. She still felt totally awful for the things she'd said to Porthos, searching a dead body for valuables, and acting like a power-hungry slut. Then there was the whole matter of her evil self flirting shamelessly with Ronan before going home with him. At least the next morning hadn't been so awful once she reassured Ronan that he hadn't taken advantage of her.

She was happy to just stretch out on the bed and take a moment to enjoy some peace and quiet with Porthos sitting nearby. She hadn't let the dog out of her sight after getting him back.

[Door closed, post open!]
Porthos the beagle was tired of waiting for the girl in the bed to wake up and feed him. So, as he did on most mornings, he decided to lick her face until she remembered that she was supposed to take care of him. Normally Hoshi would grumble a little bit, but she would usually laugh.

This time, however, the girl in the bed screeched, "Get away from me, you filthy beast!"

Whimpering, Porthos ran and hid under the bed as the girl got up. She looked just like Hoshi, except she had bangs and she was wearing a slinky negligee that the normal Hoshi wouldn't be caught dead in. She proceeded to go through the closet, scowling at the clothing she found, until she finally took one of Hoshi's tops and cut five inches of fabric from the bottom.

"So, it seems that my dear captain has grown tired of me and sent me away," said Hoshi, searching for an explanation of how she got there. "Well, I wasn't happy with him either. Perhaps it's time I took a new lover."

[Hoshi is now evil Mirror Universe Hoshi. The Porthos of the Mirror Universe is a totally different dog, so she won't recognize this Porthos. I apologize in advance for evil Hoshi. Door closed, post is open for the roommate or anyone else.]
Hoshi felt miserable. Her head ached and all she wanted to do was roll over and go back to sleep, but she had a first period class and a very fractious beagle who would insist on being walked. She pulled a pillow over her face to block out the light as bits and pieces of yesterday started to drift through her mind.

Her excessively-honest confession to Priestly that she liked him. Getting drunk with Amber, who dared her to kiss the next guy who walked in, who just happened to be Robin. Being surprised to see Isabel. And then...

She abruptly sat up in bed with a shriek. "Maa nante koto nanda! I propositioned Ronan!" She had no memory of what happened after she drunkenly started chatting him up because that's when LJ died, woe. Had she taken him up on his offer?

The stupid antiquated communications device was malfunctioning, because Hoshi was getting a lot of really bizarre messages.

At first she tried to call these people back, but eventually she gave up. For some strange reason, she had a craving for pizza and brownies. She left the phone behind when she ran out to get food.

[Establishy only. And [livejournal.com profile] morpherboy totally needs to get a sales commission from Papa John's because after reading all those pizza order calls, I need to order a pizza too.]
Hoshi's good mood over doing radio the other night was starting to wear off. She was really starting to envy Robin. She was standing in front of her closet in her undies and taking stock of how much she had left in clean clothes. "I can't believe the laundry machines went on strike, especially with all the new students around," she grumbled. Maybe she could turn stuff inside out and wear it, but that thought made her frown even more.

In the last week, Hoshi had built some huts, caught up with people, drank way too much, and managed to fit in yet another welcome picnic. With classes about to start, it was time to get back to business. She was currently cleaning out her desk, taking stock of what supplies she needed and making sure her data PADDS were all charged and ready to go if needed.

[Door and post open!]
Hoshi was being lazy. There just wasn't anything else to do, with all of her finals done. She could probably go over her lines again for the play, but last night had gone rather smoothly for her.

The door was open.

[Expecting one, but open if anyone else is around.]
It was Saturday, and Hoshi really didn't have anything to do today. She was half-awake and debating whether she should just sleep a little longer or get up and head to the library to study. Of course, before she did any of that, she should probably walk Porthos...

"Excuse me, milady, but I'm hungry," said an unfamiliar male voice.

And that's when Hoshi leapt out of bed to find a strange man sleeping at the foot of her bed. "Who the hell are you?" she demanded, wondering why Porthos hadn't started barking at the stranger.

"Milady? I'm hungry. Can I have the yummy stuff that comes out of a can today?" said the strange man, sitting up.

"Oh my... Porthos?" asked Hoshi, as the realization sunk in.

"Yes, Milady?" said Porthos. "Hey, my tail is gone!"

Hoshi had spent her Wednesday sleeping off the massive hangover that came with doing shots with Amber. But after spending a day in bed, she just didn't want to get up at all. Not even when Porthos jumped up on the bed and started licking her face to remind her that it was time for her to feed him.

"Alright, already. Silly dog," groaned Hoshi. Her head still hurt, but she still had a lot of stuff to do today, and a dog to feed.

Hoshi was in a pretty good mood as she reviewed her communications log. Rehearsal had gone well, her Home Ec midterm had literally been a piece of cake, the bake sale blew away her expectations, people seemed to be enjoying the Self Defense Club, she'd had a blast playing  "I Never" at the sleepover... In short, things had been busy but Hoshi loved it that way.

Her mood changed when she noticed an e-mail from Captain Archer. "'Please arrange quarters on Fandom Island for the weekend of October 24. My shuttle will drop me off at the causeway at 0900. Say hi to Porthos for me and tell him Daddy will be there soon?' Oh, shoot! Who the heck invited him for Parents Weekend?"

[Establishy. Door and post open, though I may be slow.]

Hoshi had a lot on her mind with the bake sale she'd volunteered to hold for the theater. Thankfully, she was taking Home Ec. She wondered if she could recruit Lulu and her classmates to help out by baking stuff in class next Tuesday.

There was a concern in the back of her mind that they needed something besides baked goods to get people to donate money that they could easily spend at J,GOB. Hoshi had a possible idea for that as well. She just wasn't sure if the other cast members were willing to go along with it.

It was while she was thinking this all over that she noticed a card with her name on it had been slipped under the door. She opened it to find that her match for the homecoming dance was... Toshiko?

[Door closed, post is open!]
Half-asleep, Hoshi rolled over and wondered if she'd accidentally fallen asleep reading a book, because there was something kind of hard in bed with her. It took her a moment to realize it wasn't a book...

[[Door closed, post open for roommate or anyone else who hears the screaming. Establishy so as not to joss myself in another post.]]
Hoshi had been making steady progress in translating the Narn books that G'Kar gave her a few weeks ago. The Narn translation of Huck Finn helped serve as her own Rosetta stone, though she had it admit it lost a little here and there when translated back into English.

But her early success probably made her a little too confident. When she came cross something that didn't make sense in another book, Hoshi got out a white board and started writing out the words she had trouble with, along with some possible meanings based on context. Except the context was hard to get when you couldn't understand most of the paragraph, which meant that she had to jott down more words that she couldn't translate.

She realized that this was probably going to take a while, but that was okay. Hoshi figured she'd crack it eventually.
There was... something odd, hovering on the edge of her consciousness as Hoshi slept. Her sleeping mind couldn't make sense of it, and the effort to try and catch onto whatever pushed her mind out of sleep. Once awake, she pulled her blanket around her, trying to shake off the feeling that something wasn't right. She tried to tell herself that she was just not used to sharing the room anymore, but she knew that wasn't true.

[Establishy, but open to the new roommate if she'd like]

Of course Hoshi was going to spend her day in one of those Greek towns on Santorini and practice speaking Greek. It was one thing to be fluent in Greek when everyone around you spoke English, and her accent needed some work.

A pretty Japanese girl like Hoshi who spoke fluent Greek was bound to attract a lot of attention, though. It wasn't long before a very good-looking Greek boy offered to help Hoshi with her linguistic skills.

Several hours later, Hoshi was sneaking back into her dorm room with a hickey on her neck and wondering how she was going to hide it.

[I couldn't resist! Door closed but post is open for a bit closed.]
