In the last week, Hoshi had built some huts, caught up with people, drank way too much, and managed to fit in yet another welcome picnic. With classes about to start, it was time to get back to business. She was currently cleaning out her desk, taking stock of what supplies she needed and making sure her data PADDS were all charged and ready to go if needed.

[Door and post open!]

After her success with making a coconut cake for First Contact Day, not to mention getting Jack to eat seaweed salad, Hoshi was checking out recipes online to see what she should try cooking next. Her attention was wandering, though. After talking to Lana, Ino and Sky, she was thinking more along the lines of summer vacation and whether she stay or try going home again. If she did, though, there would probably be another thorough investigation from Mama about what Fandom was like. Not that Hoshi would talk about a wee tiny version of Barney, who was adorable if a little scary, or learned languages from other worlds.

[OOC: Establishy, but door and post are open!]

Yesterday had been an emo overload for Hoshi. First her discussion with Annette, and then Jack, and finally Ino. Even with Martial Arts Club in between, Hoshi felt a little overwhelmed by the sheer amount of emo.

Which is why she wrote, "This is an emo-free zone," on a piece of paper and stuck it on the door. Then she sat on the spare bed in a half-lotus position, closed her eyes, and tried to let go of the things that were bothering her.

The door was closed, but anyone knocking on it better not bring any emo with them.

[Establishy, but the post is open for visitors of the non-emo variety.]
Hoshi was sitting on her bed, holding a pencil and looking it over very closely. Of course she had seen pencils before. Her beloved grandfather had used them even after data padds became widely available. She just never thought that she would get to use one.

The welcome picnic had certainly been an eye-opening experience. Her first two classes had been completely different for what she had prepared. Still, she was making friends for the first time. The people here were really nice. It was almost enough to make her forget that she needed to find a way to obtain currency.
