Hoshi was sitting on her bed, feeling pretty lazy. It had been a pretty good week so far. She had fun at Three Minute Dates, and her follow-up date with Hannibal had been really enjoyable. Still, she wondered if there was something that she was missing. There just wasn't the same thrill she felt when she talked to Jonathon Archer... who, coincidentally, sent her an e-mail just as she was thinking of him.

Hoshi smiled as she read Jonathon's news from home, including his promotion to captain. Then came the unpleasant part: he wanted to know if she could keep Porthos a little longer, because his new girlfriend was allergic to dogs.

That's when the PADD went flying across the alcove and hit the wall with a thud.
