Hoshi's good mood over doing radio the other night was starting to wear off. She was really starting to envy Robin. She was standing in front of her closet in her undies and taking stock of how much she had left in clean clothes. "I can't believe the laundry machines went on strike, especially with all the new students around," she grumbled. Maybe she could turn stuff inside out and wear it, but that thought made her frown even more.

Hurley came in. "Sorry about that," he said. "Didn't mean to... catch you with your pants down."

"It's okay," said Hoshi with a chuckle. "I was just trying to figure out what do with the clothes situation with the laundry strike."

"Yeah," Hurley said. "I'm out of pants, now. I'm just glad I don't have any more classes this week."

"I'm done with classes, but I still have work tomorrow morning. I don't think Miss Connell would be happy if I showed up in shabby clothing," said Hoshi. "I... may even consider washing stuff by hand. Never thought I'd do that before."

"Oh man, I work Friday," Hurley said. "Crap."

"Who knows when the washers and dryers will be working again?" said Hoshi with a sigh. "It's not the biggest crisis I've seen in Fandom, but it's still a big mess."

"Yeah, true," Hurley said. "I'll keep my fingers crossed. Cause dude. Yeah."

He fidgeted a moment. "So, like... I heard you on the radio."

Hoshi grinned. "I was good, wasn't I?" she said. "I really liked it, though the squirrels kept trying to give me rum."

Hurley nodded. "Yeah, you did a good job," he said. "But like... could you... maybe not give Penelope a hard time?"

Oh, yeah, there'd been that. "You really like this girl, don't you?" asked Hoshi.

"Yeah," Hurley said. He wasn't smiling about it. "And we, like, decided not to date, so... yeah."

Okay, so this was a new development to Hoshi. "Why not? Is it because she's engaged?" she asked, a little surprised.

Hurley nodded. "It sucks."

"Yeah, sometimes stuff like that happens. Not like I'm an expert on relationships or anything." What was that Greek guy's name from last summer? Hoshi felt halfway bad for not remembering.

"So, who is this guy she's engaged to?" asked Hoshi, waving Hurley over to the open desk chair.

Hurley went and sat. "Some... dude with royal blood, I guess?" he shrugged. "She doesn't even really like the guy."

"That's awful. I guess someone's forcing her to marry this guy?" asked Hoshi, sitting cross-legged on the bed so she could pet Porthos.

Hurley shrugged. "Sorta. It's... supposed to break her curse," he said.

"Oh, yikes," said Hoshi. It was totally different from what she had assumed on Monday. "I should apologize for what I said. I didn't know anything about that."

"It's okay," Hurley said. "Like you said, you didn't know."

"Are you going to be okay? Because that's why I got so upset. I didn't want to see you get hurt," said Hoshi, still feeling pretty sheepish.

"Yeah, I think I'll get over it," Hurley said. "I mean, I just want her to be happy, you know?"

Hoshi nodded in understand. "Did you guys at least have a good time on your date?" she asked.

"Sounds like I really should meet her," said Hoshi.

Hurley nodded. "I can't see how anyone wouldn't like her," he said.
