Hoshi's good mood over doing radio the other night was starting to wear off. She was really starting to envy Robin. She was standing in front of her closet in her undies and taking stock of how much she had left in clean clothes. "I can't believe the laundry machines went on strike, especially with all the new students around," she grumbled. Maybe she could turn stuff inside out and wear it, but that thought made her frown even more.

[Establishy. Door closed, but post is open for Amber or the roommate if she's around. Or for a little sibling too.]

Hoshi sat on the bed, with Porthos coming over to her and wagging his tail, hoping for a cookie. "Well, he thought you were flirting with him and was a little surprised to find out that you're going out with Liir," she said.

Taking another cookie, Amber leaned forward to give it to Porthos if Hoshi allowed it. "'Course I flirted. I'm a flirty person. I always flirt. Just out of fun, you know? I make friends flirting and... not flirting. Liir says my flirting is fine and if I wasn't flirting I wouldn't be me."

She frowned and took a big drink. "Was he... grumpy about it?"

Porthos wagged his tail and gave Amber a pleading look, which made Hoshi laugh. "I think he'll be okay with just one cookie," she said.

"Anyway, I think he was more confused than anything else. I tried saying that someone people are just naturally flirty, but he seemed to think that asking about his kilt meant that you were interested."

Grinning at the cute little guy, Amber gave him the cookie.

"Oh." Amber flushed. "Oh, geeze. I was just curious! I've read so many historical romances that my head went a little crazy when I saw a guy in a kilt. I... yes, I flirted like a flirting thing."

A beat.

"Is that so wrong?"

"Maybe only half-wrong. It takes to people to have a miscommunication," said Hoshi with a smirk. "He shouldn't have assumed that you were trying to get your hands on his banana."

Amber blinked at Hoshi then cracked up laughing. "I wasn't! Not at all! It was innocent fun teasing!"

"He doesn't exactly seem like the innocent type to me," said Hoshi, giggling.

"No he doesn't does he?" she agreed. "But I am the one to be made to look like the bad person. Okay, so I have a boyfriend. I get that, I really do. But harmless flirtation is just... making friends the easy way."

She drank more of her schnapps and took a bite of cookie.

"Well, you weren't the one getting dirty with a banana during Sex Ed," said Hoshi, turning red. "And honestly, I had no idea at first that he had this issue with you. I thought he was interested in Angela."

Amber gasped. "Hoshi! Tell me about this dirty banana business."

Hm.

"Maybe he is interested in Angela. She's pretty cute." Not like he'd be interested in Amber. Right?

"Well, the Sex Ed class put condoms on bananas on Monday and Priestly decided to put it between his legs. He said he thought he should practice in the actual position or something like that," said Hoshi, still looked pretty embarrassed.

"And I suggested stuff he could do if he was interested in Angela, but he told me that he wasn't interested at all."

Amber's jaw dropped. "Oh my gosh he is way dirtier than me! And he was complaining 'cause I flirted. Oh man!"

And hmmmm.

"Well, he was hanging out with Dinah today. Maybe he's interested in her? Or... getting to be interested in her. Or I don't know."

"I haven't met Dinah yet," said Hoshi, "But, um, now that I think about it, I suggested that it was probably easier to just fool around and not get involved." It wasn't like Hoshi could remember the name of that Greek boy from last summer.

"He... didn't seem so enthusiastic about the idea."

"Really?" Well, that was something to ponder over.

"In it for something full time is he? I wonder who will end up snatching him," she said, though made her tone indifferent. She didn't care. Really.

"Drink up, Hoshi!"

"Cheers!" said Hoshi, taking a sip of her peach schnapps. It wasn't bad. She could get to liking this stuff.

"You know, once you get past the kilt and the hair and the t-shirt, he is kind of cute and he seemed like a cool guy," she said. Not that she was looking to get involved with anyone if she planned on leaving this summer.

It wasn't exactly great, Amber was just going make herself get used to it.

"He is, he really is," she agreed. "He's nice but he's got this thing against me now so.." she shrugged, "..not much I can do about it now."

"I guess stuff like that is bound to happen, especially when people aren't entirely open about how they feel," said Hoshi. "But he's an outgoing guy. I'm sure he'll move on quickly. Any other good-looking guys among the newbies?"

"I haven't met that many," she admitted. "There's Merlin, but he's a manservant which sucks for him. He says its an honorable position, but whatever. I think when you're here, you should clean up after your own self."

"Except now I may regret Liir's offer to clean my clothes."

"But boyfriends are supposed to be all useful like that," said Hoshi, giggling.

"Yah, I know it, but his washing my underthings just seems so wrong," Amber said.

She drank more.

"What were you saying on the phone about your sibling?"

"I've heard of guys who were interested in that kind of thing," mumbled Hoshi before taking another sip.

"It's Hurley. I heard his new girlfriend is engaged to someone else and I'd hate to see him get hurt," she went on. "I don't know if I'm being overly protective, but I thought I should have a little chat with this girl."

Amber blinked. "Seriously? Like a fetish or something?" Uh.

"Hurley has a girlfriend?" God, that was new news. "I hadn't heard. And she is? Oh geeze. Yah, you definitely need to find out what is going on there." She poured herself another glass. "I can totally go with you in case you need like, moral support." For whatever.

"There are some interesting people out there who are into some weird things, if you believe everything you read on the Internet," said Hoshi.

She chuckled. "Moral support would be good, but I'm more likely to need someone to keep me from calling people once I get drunk."

"I might have to look stuff up." A beat. "You know, when I'm bored or something."

Amber giggled. "I love your drunk dialing. We should get drunk and dial people, Hoshi!"

"I have no idea how many people I called that night," said Hoshi, blushing again. "Someone from the hotel found me and brought me there to sleep off the hangover."
