Mars, February 28, 2145

As the Intrepid moved into a standard orbit above Mars, the Junior Cadets were all crowded around the viewports in the mess hall while their instructor pointed on geological features on the planet's surface. One of the cadets, stood apart from the ground and was actively engaged in conversation with a Vulcan official who was observing. After all, Hoshi didn't get a whole lot of opportunities these days to practice her Vulcan with an actual Vulcan.

The conversation ended when Commander Archer entered the room, carrying a very hyper Porthos who wanted to walk for himself. The Vulcan official took one look at the beagle puppy and quickly found something more important to do on another deck.
