Room 423, Monday night
After the weirdness of the last couple of weeks, things were starting to look up for Hoshi. She was really looking forward to the dance on Friday and she still felt absolutely giddy about Michael saying yes when she asked him to go to the dance with her.
As she went to the closet to see if she had anything to wear on Friday, Hoshi got a glimpse of the picture of Commander Archer that she had taped to her closet door. She looked it at for a moment, then took it down and placed it in her desk drawer. While Jonathon was still important to her, Hoshi was willing to admit that he was far off in another time period having drinks with that girl at the 602 Club. She might as well have her own relationships here in Fandom.

He flashed a winsome Cool Type smile. "If you need any fashion advice, I'd be willing to give you a second opinion." Then a bit of reality
beat him over the mullet with a hammerset in. "Or you could leave it to the experts. Seems I'm not up on fashion these days."no subject
"Who were you going to get flowers for?" she asked, curious.

"And then, I was thinking you, but someone beat me to the punch," he said with a smirk. It fell for a moment. "Seriously, if this guy starts messing with your cluster fear thing, I'll take care of him."
The smile came back, a bit fainter. "I was thinking maybe Cassandra, but... I haven't talked to her in a while. Longer than you. Not sure if she's mad at me. Hell," he said, rubbing the back of his head, "I'm not sure if you're mad at me. Or if I'm mad at people. I'm all hermit lately."

And then, with the abrupt change of subject, she asked, "How are you classes going?"
no subject
"Classes are going. I have no clue what I'm supposed to do for this Cool class. That Barney guy says we're not cool, but the Host Club guy says that I'm the cool one," he said, indicating himself with a thumb. "So I'm not sure what to believe. And the others... I'm doing okay." He shrugged. "How's your classes? And everything else?"

When she got over the laughing, Hoshi wiped away a few tears. "As long as I don't have to put up with Barney anymore. My classes are good, but they're a little bit harder than last semester. That's fine by me."

"I... I should go. Um. I'm happy for you and Michael. Save me a dance?" he asked.

He just kept swimming deeper and deeper into a murky pit of wrong the more he talked.
