Room 423, Saturday afternoon

"Stay off of the bed, Porthos," Hoshi warned as she took the dog off his leash. She'd taken him with her when she went for her morning jog and Porthos had a little too much fun playing in the mud. She watched as Porthos sat on the floor, then turned. "Let me get a towel and we'll go give you a bath. You like baths, right, Porthos?" said Hoshi, looking over her shoulder. While her back was turned, Porthos had jumped up on her bed, muddy paws and all. She sighed. "Alright, bath first, and then laundry. You're very lucky you're cute."

Porthos wagged his tail at her, but then his ears perked up and he looked at the door with a growl. He jumped off the bed and went running to the closed door.

Hoshi frowned. "What is it, buddy? Is someone there?"

[Door closed, but post is open for a weetiny, a daddy, and anyone else who doesn't mind some SP!]

"Hey there, kiddo," Ronan said, his smile widening into a grin. "It's good to see you!" He scooped Kaji up and swung him around. "Can you tell Da your name? Da's a little silly today and forgot it."

"Silly Da! I'm Kaji," the little boy said with a giggle.

"Well, Kaji, what do you want to do today?"

"Play!" squealed Kaji.

Ronan looked over at Hoshi. "I think we can manage that," he said, with a grin. "But Daddy's got to go for a little bit now, okay?" To Hoshi, he added, "I've got to go help with the other kids, too. Want to meet up for dinner?"

"Sounds like a plan. Besides, we have a busy day ahead of us," said Hoshi, smiling. "Kaji is going to help me give Porthos a bath, and then we've got laundry! Doesn't that sound like fun?"

Kaji, fooled by Hoshi's enthusiastic tone of voice, nodded and grinned.
