Room 423, Monday morning [3/31]

When Hoshi woke up Monday morning, she was surprised to find herself clutching a small blanket. No, a blankie. That was weird, she thought. She had given up her security blankie when she was four years old...

Fuzzy memories from the weekend started to filter into her consciousness. She sat up, finding her artwork from the night before still sitting on the bed. The door was closed.

On the other bed, something green and fuzzy stretched and yawned. And for a moment was unable to figure out why it was such a novelty to have more limbs to stretch.

Then he remembered. "Oh."

"Good morning," said Hoshi. "I guess it's only fitting that last semester, I got to be older, so this semester Fandom decided to make me a three-year-old again."

Porthos was also waking up in his doggie bed. He stretched, then came over to investigate Robin.

Robin giggled, and reached out a hand for Porthos to smell. [Hi, I'm Robin.] he said in basic dog. "It's nice to have legs again. I forgot how hard it was to get around back then."

Porthos sniffed Robin's hand, deciding that he was okay. He went over to Hoshi's bed and jumped up on it. She had skipped out on his evening walk and he wanted to stretch his legs.

"I still can't imagine how you got around without legs," said Hoshi, scratching Porthos behind the ears.

"A lot of hopping on my tail." Robin said. "It's actually not supposed to be easy for us to get around at that age. Helps keep us out of trouble."

"Did you get into any kind of trouble this weekend?" asked Hoshi. She flipped through the "letter" to her parents, cringing at her attempts to draw in crayon.

"Not much. I think I almost did though."

"I think I owe someone for a chocolate banana," said Hoshi, thinking. "And apparently I really liked coloring. Oh, and I have to thank Adam for helping me when I got lost."

Porthos nudged Hoshi's hand and whimpered.

"I also forgot to take someone for his regular walk," added Hoshi, petting Porthos.

"I have to thank Michael for keeping me out of the knives." Robin remembered.

"Knives?" asked Hoshi. "Yikes. I'm glad Michael kept you out of them too."

"I was exploring a kitchen counter. Then later Eve, or maybe it was Savannah invited me to her wedding."

"Wedding?" laughed Hoshi. "Sounds I didn't get into enough trouble over the weekend, then. Did you go to the wedding?"

"I handwavily did." Robin nodded. mun missed that thread "It was really cute."

"I think I had more fun this weekend than when I really was that age," said Hoshi, looking wistful. "It was around age three that my parents first took me to a doctor who tested me for my IQ. Once they realized I was a genius, everyone treated me differently."

"I think maybe I did too. I never met my first human till I'd grown legs and my tail dropped off."

Porthos was starting to get impatient with Hoshi and barked.

"Okay, okay, time for your walk," said Hoshi, climbing out of bed. "Do you have any classes today, Robin? I've got world mythology."

"I've got math class later."

"Sounds fun," said Hoshi. "Want to join me and Porthos on a quick walk before classes start?"

"Yeah that'd be great!" Math class wasn't that fun really but it was neccesary.

"Good," said Hoshi, grinning. "Let me get Porthos on his leash, and, um, maybe you wouldn't mind waiting outside while I get ready?" she asked, looking at her flannel pjs.

"Oh, yeah of course." Robin said. He'd be blushing if he could.
